An Apple-solutely Awesome Adventure

Have you ever visited a farm before?

Going to visit farms is an occasional summertime outing for the both of us. However, we have always been open to new adventures so we decided to explore an apple farm as the fall season is quickly approaching.

If many of you are unfamiliar with some of the farms in Milton, Ontario we suggest you check out a few places. There is nothing better than buying fresh fruit, vegetables, homemade goodies like, ice-cream and seeing all the cute farm animals.

The first adventure took place at a farm we have been visiting for a long time known as, Andrew’s Scenic Acres.

This farm is the perfect place for the whole family. They offer wagon rides, corn mazes, flower picking and some amazing spots to take pictures with beautiful sunflowers. When we went to the farm, at the end of August, the sunflowers just had bloomed!

Additionally, Andrew’s Farm is the home of many farm animals that visitors can feed. There are chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, and pigs. On a personal note, our favourite animal to feed were the goats. They are a bunch of anxious, hungry animals when they see humans even with a small leaf in their hand. It is also very amusing watching the way the animals interact with each other. Most commonly we see the goats “headbutt” each other as a sign of dominance and a way of playing with the other goats.

After we took a walk around the farm admiring all the beautiful flowers including the sunflowers, we decided to grab some homemade frozen yogurt. Our personal favourite flavor is raspberry. The farm also offers many other flavors including blueberry and strawberry frozen yogurt. Our next stop was to accomplish some fresh apple picking just next door at Wheelbarrow Orchards.

This farm is the home to many fresh goodies. From eggs, to pies, apple cider and fresh apples this is definitely a spot to check out during the autumn season. The entire farm offers fresh apples from all different assortments that visitors can buy by the bag or can pick fresh right off the tree.

It had been a sunny picture perfect day to take some shots of all the apples. We have enlisted the many types they offer and some fun facts about each apple that we’re sure you never knew before. ;)

As a whole, the day was filled with so many good moments. Feeding the farm animals and picking apples were some of the best highlights of the day. Out of all the apples hands down our favourite would have to be the Sunrise! Throughout the experience we learned that we should cherish the small moments in life more often. Even if it was a small adventure, we still made plenty of new memories with our loved ones.

If you are just as excited as we were visiting these two farms, visit www.andrewscenicacres.com and www.frasersbeveragecompany.com for all the latest details.

There are plenty fun activities to do during the fall season! If you have any other cool suggestions around Ontario we would love to hear.
